NATTERBOX

This IT company recently relocated to a listed Richard Seifert NLA Tower in Croydon. The brief presented some logistical problems as the lift only ran to the first floor of the space and most of the furniture had to be carried up to the top floor! The top 2 floors of the building were stripped out which created an industrial open plan space with cubes of glass offices slotted in.

Working closely with City Axis, the contractor, a unique office environment was created with bespoke cabinets and concrete tables. Exposed duct-work and custom made lights give the space a loft-like and unconventional feel. All furniture and fittings were designed and supplied by our team. In close collaboration with Giant Arc Design, the graphics created were strong and bold with comical references to the IT geek world of words!

TRAETH

Traeth, Welsh for beach, is a predominantly fish restaurant on the coast in West Wales. We were commissioned to design the interior and exterior to reflect the sea-side. The brief was to avoid the 'fish on a string' image and sourced original vintage fittings and fixtures to give a relaxed unique interior.

BRIGHTON MARINA YACHT CLUB

BMYC is situated on a floating dock in the Marina on the West Quay. The design concept was to deviate from the traditional wooden panels and high gloss varnish of a classic yacht club, and create a more contemporary environment. Vintage nautical memorabilia and a mix of fabrics and furniture contribute to the unique setting of the club. Old burgees were sewn onto canvas panels to break the room up but to allow flexibility to open or close up the space which is host to sailing events, parties and committee meetings.

We commissioned PHG Cowes to source and specify all the material for the interior fit-out including plumbing, lighting and finishes. We also supplied all the interior furniture and fixtures, and project managed the installation.

NEILSON HQ CONCEPTS

Design Stuff, in close conjunction with Giant Arc Design, a branding agency based in Brighton, developed a concept to renovate 3 floors of the Neilson HQ. Neilson is a successful active holiday company that specialises in skiing and sailing holidays in Europe. The brief was to create a more convivial areas in the building for the staff to work, and play in. Cocooned spaces to relax and catch up were placed alongside open plan office life and themed meeting rooms.

CARIBBEAN PROJECTS

Design Stuff was successfully established in the Caribbean for many years working extensively in the Virgin Islands and the French West Indies. Projects varied from beach bars and clubs, shopping malls, restaurants, shops, spas and hotels.

As the Caribbean sun-set slips down around 6pm most of the year, garden lighting played an intrinsic part in all exterior design projects.
